PAINTINGS

The paintings draw on nature to reflect on the condition of human nature. In the "Butterfly" series, the mandala structure, the grains and spices and the butterflies themselves are symbolic of the physical and spiritual nourishment we need to survive.

In the "Camouflage Flowers", the pleasing, zygomorphic symmetry of the orchids collides with the war zone camouflage designs imprinted on them. This alludes to the increasingly degraded habitats that plants have to adapt to or are genetically treated with in order to please the consumer market .
